Kirby Senden's Group: Super Strong and Psyched

Kirby phoned in from the 14K camp. They did a 'back carry' today which means they went back down to 13,500 feet to get gear that they had cached there two days prior. It's like a really hard game of leap frog. Anyway, tomorrow they are going up to the fixed lines. Those are just that, fixed lines (climbing rope) anchored in the snow on a steep section of terrain. The fixed lines begin at 15,600 feet and go up to 16,200. The group will practice ascending these lines by clipping in and out from them so that they always have protection. This is referred to as "running pro." Kirby says all is well and the group is "super strong and psyched."
