Guide Peter Anderson called in early this morning to report that they got their weather window yesterday and made their bid for the summit and were back at High Camp safe & sound. It sounds like most of them gave it a try, with Sean & Trent "touching the top at 6:10 pm". He said it was "a little breezy and cloudy but great compared to what we've been having". Guide Nick D'Alessio and the rest of the team kept the home fires burning at camp, with hot food and warm liquids at the ready. Today the team was packing up and getting ready to move to 14-camp. Peter said their ETA to Base Camp will be Friday morning. So we hope to see them in Talkeetna on Friday as well.
Peter and Nick's team are planning to do a tent swap with the May 23 AMS team lead by Todd Tumolo and Brent Langlinais and their group. This will lighten the load for both teams. Brent, Todd, Chad, Ed, Jason, Tary & John will move up to 17,200 feet and start staging for the next phase of their expedition.
