Denali, West Rib, 5/2, Tumolo

AMS guide Todd Tumolo called in from 14K.  They also had a windy night at 14K.  Todd said it was probably blowing over 60 mph in camp.  Todd and his team have walls that are between 6 and 8 feet tall.  That's what it takes.

Climbing Denali is blue collar.  Every single person on the expedition needs to build as much walls, dig as many holes, saw as many blocks, wash as many dishes and carry as heavy of a pack as the guides (well maybe not quite as heavy of a pack)!

Weather permitting Todd and his team were hoping to make a carry to the 16.2K ridge on the West Buttress.  The conditions on the Upper West Rib are very icy so far this season.  Team Tumolo have switched their objective to the West Buttress.
