Holmgren Advanced Mounatineering Course Returns

AMS Instructors Larry Holmgren, Keith Sidle and the Advanced Mountaineering Course students returned from the Pika Glacier today.  The team traveled from the South East Fork of the Kahiltna Glacier to the Pika Glacier.  

The covered technical classes and climbed Control Tower in the SE fork and then continued on to travel 25 miles on the main flow of the active snow covered Kahiltna navigating in white out conditions and in clear weather too.  Once in Little Switzerland they climbed Little Arapiles.  The group had a great time,  mother nature gave them an added bonus of a magnificent display of fully color Northern Lights.  They had a combination of great weather (with a few stormy days mixed in too ) in the mountains and returned to a beautiful Talkeetna day!
